Ganesh Chaturthi 2011

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with a belief that Lord Ganesha, son of Shiva and Parvati, bestows His blessings on His devotees, on this day. It is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha, the God of wisdom. Ganesh Chaturthi falls on the fourth day of the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, which falls around August or September. The occasion becomes very lively and enthusiastic with the devotional songs, dances and drum beats being a part of the procession observed by the devotees of Lord Ganesha, as a part of the festivities. Ganesh Chaturthi is the only festival that involves and welcomes the participation of general public.

Ganesh Chaturthi is an important festival of Maharashtra, celebrated grandly in other parts of India as well. The preparation starts one month in advance, with great enthusiasm, to celebrate this auspicious occasion. The festival starts with the installation of beautifully sculpted Ganesha idols in homes and mandaps. These idols are decorated beautifully and show religious themes. The occasion also sees various cultural events being held every where, in which people participate with interest. After celebration, the time of farewell comes and the idol of the beloved God is immersed in water. The celebration ends with the immersion, accompanied by loud shouts of 'Ganapati Bappa Moraya'.

Dom Kennedy - From The Westside With Love II

You have projects from people that you know by the first song on the project that's it's heavily dedicated and you can tell that they put A lot of work into the process of making it. This Is a complete example of that right here. I'm only 16, seeing this and listening to this man speak about his highs and lows is history within it's self. Every track seems very complete and thorough, from Doms Prayer to She Ain't In Love to 2mph to Platinum Chanel to Dream to Me to Graduate, I would have to say that this has to be his best piece of work to date. From 25th Hour to This, You See Alot Of Progression in a man that came from a hell of a way, that's one of the many reasons why I respect his music, he is not only consistent, each project gets better. This is a must hear, point blank

I present From The Westside With The Love II.

Indie Watch : The Deans List

The deans list is normally a term that's used to recognize the most talented students within the academic field, but three young guys from the streets of Boston defined a new meaning for these three words above. Filled with two magnificent producers and one swell MC, giving an authentic sound that has a slight similar sound to these two guys from Philly that came out with a song called "Opposite of Adults". But they do uphold their own sound to their music, Espicially on the song "#K2YL" that uses synths and electronic keyboards to capture the essence of Sonny's Lyrics. Not only they captured people's attention by releasing that song, but they had a lavish project that goes by "The Drive-In" that was hosted by the home based online shop "Karmaloop". This was filled with many complete songs like "Dear Professor" that had a indie Rock sample to cultivate the listeners ears with the sampled hook and sonny's lyrics. Another was "La Vie", that set ups the party atmosphere and last but not least, Burn It All catches good vibes to the listeners interest. In a nut shell, these guys are definitely the future. Their sound is something authentic and completely original, especially from their area of Boston. I really support these guys, they truly are next .
